born in 1975, is an accomplished artist whose journey began in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama. His early artistic endeavors were nurtured by his uncle, a renowned oil painter, who inspired Gerald to create sketches, postcards, and large poster-sized greeting cards for holiday affairs. His preadolescent years were marked by a deep study of art theory, shapes, contours, and angles, under the tutelage of his prolific teacher a multilingual oil painter.
Gerald's passion for charcoal and pastel paintings was ignited during this period, setting the foundation for his artistic education. His pursuit of art led him to the Alabama School of Fine Arts, where he delved deeper into art theory, facial structure, portraits, art philosophy, art history, renaissance, and modern art.
After a brief stint designing tees, Gerald transitioned into the realm of digital art. Today, he creates stunning acrylic paintings and continues to enjoy pencil drawings with his two children. His art took a poignant turn following the tragic loss of his father and brother, leading him to channel his emotions into minimalist charcoal paintings. These works, crafted with black charcoal on rough construction paper, hold a unique place in his heart.
In the evolving digital age, Gerald has embraced the world of NFT art, selling his creations on the Open Sea platform. Many of his current artworks come with an available NFT, and some buyers even receive a free NFT with the purchase of an original Gerald Ware painting. He believes in the potential of NFTs, with many of his pieces having less than 20 mints, indicating their potential to grow in value.
Gerald's art is a conduit for emotion, expressed through colors, shapes, and at times, empty space. He enjoys painting faces and expressions, but finds particular joy in drawing shades and rich hues, often using ambient fluorescent mixes of colors to reveal a deeper picture. His art styles encompass Minimalism, Abstract Expressionism, Figurative Art, Contemporary Art, and Color Field Painting, each style offering a unique visual and emotional experience.
Looking ahead, Gerald envisions himself as an art dealer, curating creative works for art aficionados who appreciate and collect timeless pieces of art. His belief is that art is not just a visual experience, but an emotional journey that stands the test of time. Gerald Ware's art, under the "G Ware Collection," is a testament to this belief, offering unique, high-quality paintings that speak volumes about his journey, his passion, and his vision for the future. His works are not just paintings; they are pieces of his soul, shared with the world.
